Best Builds for Every Character in Diablo 2 Resurrected

When it comes to playing Diablo 2 Resurrected, every player has their own favorite build for each character class. These favorites usually depend on what you enjoy most, whether that’s raw power, speed, magic finding, or ease of play. In this article, I will share my personal favorite build for each of the seven classes, based on five main criteria: budget power, endgame power, speed, ease of play, and magic find effectiveness.

Sorceress – Nova Sorceress

The Nova Sorceress is a classic and extremely popular build, beloved for its high clear speed and strong damage output. Back in the early 2000s, Nova was the go-to Sorceress build until it was nerfed and then recently buffed again in patches. It remains an excellent choice both for budget players and endgame veterans.

With just basic caster gear, you can already dish out solid damage. Adding a Crescent Moon rune word takes the power up a notch, and later on, wielding a self-cast Infinity makes this build one of the most powerful clearing builds available.

Speed-wise, the Sorceress excels with teleport, hitting the 105 break point to move lightning fast between monsters and magic finding spots. The ease of play is also top-notch — the Nova skill sends out a ring of projectiles around you, so you just have to stay near enemies and the damage does the rest.

While the Nova Sorceress can’t stack as much magic find as some other classes, it still achieves respectable levels of 150–200% magic find in endgame builds, making it a great all-around choice.

Barbarian – Magic Finding Berserker

The Barbarian stands out as one of the best magic finders, thanks largely to his Find Item skill. My favorite Barbarian build is the Berserker, which combines decent damage, area of effect through shouts, and excellent magic find potential.

Budget-wise, this build isn’t the strongest compared to other classes, but it’s solid among Barbarian builds. Dual wielding Spirit swords adds skill points and damage, and the Find Item skill effectively doubles your kill output by giving a second chance at loot on champions and uniques.

Endgame gear and the teleport granted by Enigma make this build fast and powerful. The ease of play is high since you don’t need to aim precisely; your shouts deal area damage, allowing you to get close and let your skills do the work.

Paladin – Fist of the Heavens

The Fist of the Heavens Paladin is my favorite budget and endgame Paladin build. Unlike Hammerdin, you don’t need teleport to be effective, making it more accessible early on. You can snipe enemies with Fist of the Heavens and use Holy Bolt to deal with undead and demons efficiently.

It offers solid kill speed comparable to Hammerdin and is quite good for magic finding, stacking upwards of 200% MF and beyond with endgame gear. While it requires a bit more aiming than the Sorceress or Barbarian, it’s still very manageable and rewarding.

Druid – Wind Druid

The Wind Druid is the most powerful Druid build in my opinion, favored for its balance of power and speed. While not as strong as the Nova Sorceress or Fist of the Heavens Paladin, it’s still a great choice.

Budget-wise and in endgame, the Wind Druid’s tornadoes deliver reliable damage with decent attack speed. Its difficulty lies in aiming tornadoes effectively since they don’t always path intuitively, but once mastered, it’s one of the fastest Druids in the game.

Magic find is comparable to the Paladin, with the ability to stack over 200% MF comfortably.

Necromancer – Summon Necromancer

The Summon Necromancer is one of my favorite budget builds due to its survivability and ease of play. Summons soak up damage, letting you safely cast Corpse Explosion to clear packs quickly.

Endgame gear dramatically boosts corpse explosion radius and damage, while curses add another layer of crowd control. With teleport from Enigma, the Necromancer’s speed is competitive with other top builds.

The safety from summons means less micro-management, making this build very easy to play. Magic find is also strong, thanks to the ability to stack MF on gear while maintaining high kill speed.

Amazon – Lightning Fury Javazon

My favorite Amazon build is the Lightning Fury Javazon, which is arguably the fastest cow killer and baal runner in the game. Even budget gear lets you throw javelins that deal tremendous damage to groups.

Endgame gear ramps up kill speed drastically, though the casting and teleport frames are slower, making long-distance travel a bit tedious. Still, it’s one of the fastest builds for clearing and magic finding, especially for runes.

Magic find isn’t its strongest suit compared to other classes, but it excels at fast rune farming due to its kill speed.

Assassin – Lightning Trap Assassin

Though not my favorite class, for the Assassin I pick the Lightning Trap build. Mosaic and fire trap builds are strong, but lightning trap has solid budget and endgame potential.

This build involves setting traps and waiting for them to clear monsters, which limits speed somewhat but is very easy to play. You can stack a reasonable amount of magic find, comparable to Paladin builds.

While it may lack the fast-paced feel of other builds, it’s effective and can be very rewarding if you enjoy the trap playstyle.
